If following is the answer, then who is the leader? The leader is God. Everything is in God's hands anyways, so stop trying to lead yourself. This was a hard message for me to hear and hard to trust. It comes with some implication. To be a good follower, you need to do things on God's time not your (Btw: God's got all the time in the world). This requires patients and perseverance. It can be tough, but you have to trust. This also means even if it's hard to believe what God is saying, do it. Hind-sight is 20/20, but that doesn't help when looking to the future. You just have to trust and believe.
Naturally, being a follower will make you a leader to other. If other see what they want, they'll follow that. As I was watching "Boy Meets World" last night, there were two older kids who just wanted to follow someone around, and when there leader left the school, they were lost. People like to follow leader because it makes them feel safe. It takes the pressure off of them to make decisions. But as you start to follow God, you will become a leader.
This reminds me of when you really try for something and don't get it, but when you don't try at all, you get exactly what you wanted. So if you want to be a leader, follow. Simple as that.
This message spoke to me a crucial time. I was trying figure out how to lead my life and grow up, and I have found my answer; Follow.
