I am currently sitting next to
Timo as his first round of chemotherapy drips. It has been a big day. First of all,
OHSU is an amazing large and complex hospital. There is so much going on here it's amazing. At the same time, sitting in
Timo's room, I feel like we are the only ones here. I guess I'll start by saying what I'm thankful for. I'm thankful for the wonderful hospital, especially the Phil Knight Cancer Institute. The room is extremely nice and the view overlooks the city and Mt. Hood. I am also thankful for all the support from family and friends. It would be so much harder if we didn't have such a great support group. Another aspect to be thankful for is
Timo's health. We just spent about an hour walking around, chatting and evening video chatting a friend. After sleeping all day, it was great to see him up and moving around.
As we begin to fight the cancer, I pray that Tim can recover from chemo quick, he can strengthen many relationship and help lead people to Christ. He may not look physically strong, but there is no one better to take on cancer. I'm so proud of Timo's bravery and leadership through this all.
As we are ending our first night in the hospital and as the chemo continues to drip, I simply thank God for giving as all the tools we need to adequately fight this. I pray that through his strength, Timo will be cured of cancer.
